Why we started Happy Paaji in Jabalpur

1 min read

Most food-delivery startups launch in a metro, raise the prices, and call it growth. We did the opposite. Happy Paaji started in Jabalpur — and that was a deliberate choice, not a fallback.

A city that gets overlooked

Tier-2 cities have brilliant local kitchens and loyal customers, but the big platforms treat them as an afterthought: high commissions, thin support, generic playbooks copied from Mumbai. The food culture here deserves better than being squeezed.

Building close to the ground

Starting in Jabalpur means we sit in the same lanes as the restaurants and riders we serve. We can:

  • Onboard a restaurant in person and explain zero commission face to face.
  • Hear rider problems directly and fix them fast.
  • Keep delivery local, short, and genuinely affordable.

The long game

Jabalpur is the proof, not the limit. Get the model right where the big apps won't bother — fair pricing, fair pay, real support — and it travels to every city like it.
